As most of my friends knew, i was accepted into UPM for statistics... It wasn't my 1st choice but it is one of my choices... I went to UPM early on that Saturday 28/6, morning... I was probably those few who arrived early that is why i managed to get a room at the ground floor...
I was actually feeling lost and when i 1st saw the area and the college, i suddenly dreaded studying there... Afterall, this is my 1st time being away from home ALONE... But thanks to the Acad P's seniors, they made me feel welcome... At least i know that there are ppl nearby who can help me should i face any problems in uni... I'm so very grateful... My room is shared by 4 ppl and so you can imagine how cramp it is... But thankfully, i have pretty cool roommates who speak ENGLISH so we get along really well...
Orientation started that day itself at 6pm... Basically the orientation was just like others' orientation... We had to wake up bout 5 something and slept after 12am, being scolded and screamed for no particular reasons... Even if they had a reason, it was for a very minor mistake... Going for talks when you are "half-dead" was torturing cos we had to try our very best not to fall asleep...
But.... This orientation also gave me some fond memories (though not many)... I got to know and became acquaintance with others and i did learnt a little from the talks (when i'm not forcing myself to stay awake)... Most importantly, i realised that my orientation wasn't as bad as some of my friends'... My seniors were actually more lenient... And i know that when we were tired, they were 10 times more tired than us... So, i can understand their bad tempers...
Overall, it was a bitter-sweet experience... :)
